Cookie Policy

Introduction

Last updated October 29, 2026. This policy explains cookies and similar browser storage used by Discover OC at discover-orangecounty.com.

Browser storage for My OC

My OC uses browser storage through Finsweet-powered favorites functionality to remember saved places on a browser or device. Local storage is different from traditional cookies. Clearing site data may remove favorites; they may not carry over to another device.

Essential technologies

Technical storage may be needed to deliver the website, maintain security, or support features visitors request. These uses are distinct from optional analytics. Discover OC does not currently operate behavioral advertising campaigns.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and improve the website. In its standard configuration, GA4 uses first-party cookies including _ga to distinguish browsers and measure usage; Google states the main _ga cookie can last up to two years. GA4 can measure page views, sessions, interactions, approximate location, and device/browser information. Actual cookie behavior may vary with browser and consent settings. Google Search Console monitors search visibility and does not itself install a visitor analytics cookie on this website.

External destinations

Discover OC uses Finsweet Components for site functionality. An older Jetboost script was also found in Webflow's site head code and is being checked for removal if unused. Links to Google Maps and external websites take visitors to those providers' own privacy and cookie practices. Embedded external media, where used, may involve additional third-party storage.

Visitor choices

You can clear or restrict cookies and local storage through browser settings; this can affect My OC favorites. Where applicable privacy law requires consent or other choices for analytics and similar technologies, those controls must be implemented separately from this policy, and optional tracking should be handled accordingly. Updates

We will revise this policy when integrations, cookie uses, or visitor privacy controls change.
